• Interior

  • Hollow core, solid core, or stile and rail? And additionally, a model name is preferred. 

  • What are the measurements? Is it of a standard width and height (80”)? If you’re home was built around or before 1985 there is high likelihood that your doors may be cut down to size, i.e. custom.

  • What color hinges?

  • Quantities

• Exterior

  • Steel, fiberglass, or natural wood?

  • Must it be fire-rated?

  • What are the measurements? Standard widths and height (80”)?

  • Inswing or Outswing? See exterior door product page for more details.

  • Would you like glass?

    • Decorative? Obscured? Clear? LowE?

    • How much? Full? Three-Quarters? Half? Quarter?

  • How many bored holes? 2 for a deadbolt.

  • What color hinges?

  • Any special customizations or specifications?

    • Mail slot? Peep hole? Etc.

    • Certain color weatherstripping, non-standard measurement of jamb, etc. 

Moulding

• When considering moulding please look through Garden State Lumber’s Catalog. It's recommended that you come in to the store to explore your options beforehand, and talk to us about the design of your home. 

• What is the model number/code? Refer to the catalog. 

• How many lineal feet are needed? 

  • 1000 LF + of an individual item will get you a discounted price on that one particular item. 

Lumber

• We do not sell dimensional lumber besides 2x4x8 and 2x4x10 Douglas Fir. 

• Quantities and dimensions of the individual items are needed here. 

• If this is a non-stock item, for example, lumber over 20’ long, this would be considered special order. These may not be returnable items, depending on our suppliers’ policies. 

Decking

• Consider longevity, sun exposure, customer service experiences, variety, and expense when choosing your brand. Check out the product page for more details.

• We do not generate material lists for deck projects, i.e. treated lumber, hardware, quantity of deck boards, etc. This is to be solved by the homeowner or contractor before quoting. 

• To quote a deck from the ground up or for a renovation project we would simply need a materials list

Windows

• We simply need the measurements and the numbers are sent to our suppliers’ quote teams. You have the choice of contractor grade, average grade, or our highest grade (Anderson). 

Cabinetry

• We will not generate a materials list or measure for cabinets ourselves. 

• We will need all the specific measurements of the cabinets needed, and the specifications are sent to our suppliers’ quote teams. 

• Cabinets are less expensive when shipped loose, i.e. not put together.
